INGREDIENTI
1 organic orange
250 g of toasted hazelnuts
180 g of granulated sugar + 1 another level tablespoon
6 eggs
100 g of dark chocolate
icing sugar
some slices of candied orange
COME PROCEDERE
Wash the orange, put it into a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil over a low heat and cook for about 10 minutes.
Remove the pot from heat and leave to cool. Cut the orange into pieces, remove the seeds and whirl into a blender.
Grease and line the bottom of a baking tin (Ø 28 cm) with baking paper.
Separate egg whites and yolks.
Using a mixer, chop the hazelnuts finely with a tablespoon of sugar.
Melt the chocolate in a double saucepan.
In a bowl - or in the standing electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment - beat the yolks and the sugar until they are creamy. Add the blended orange, the chopped hazelnuts and the melted chocolate stirring well.
In another bowl. whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold them, one tablespoon at a time, into the mixture stirring well from top to bottom.
Pour the cake mixture into the baking tin and bake for about 30-35 minutes at 200°C.
Allow the cake to cool on a wire rack before unmolding.
Sprinkle with abundant icing sugar and top with some slices of candied orange.
