This delicious double chocolate loaf cake with cream cheese and chocolate chunks is the perfect size for chocolate-lovers. Is a simple and easy moist cake recipe, rich and decadent, the perfect size for a family dessert, try it now!
  • 200 g of cream cheese
  • 150 g of all-purpose flour
  • 150 g of dark chocolate (70%)
  • 100 g of milk chocolate (or your favourite one, as an alternative)
  • 100 g of butter at room temperature
  • 100 g of caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 7 g of baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Line a loaf pan with baking paper, greased.
  3. In a large mixing bowl - or in the standing electric mixer - cream together the butter and the sugar until you have a light and airy mixture.
  4. Add the cream cheese and mix well to combine.
  5. Add the eggs and the vanilla extract mixing well until they are full incorporated.
  6. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt it in the microwave oven at full power three times for 30 seconds. Stir well and allow it to cool slightly.
  7. In another bowl, sift together the flour, the baking powder, the cocoa and the salt.
  8. Stir in the melted chocolate in the cream cheese mixture. Gradually add the sifted flour mixture stirring well with a spatula until is incorporated.
  9. Pour ¾ of the cake mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
  10. Break the milk chocolate into pieces and add half of it to the dough pressing slightly to fully cover it.
  11. Cover with the remaining cake mixture and arrange the other half of the chocolate on the surface of the plum cake without submerge it completely in the dough.
  12. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
  13. Allow the plum cake to cool slightly in the pan before removing.
  14. Slice and serve.
