Maple Almond Scones

INGREDIENTI
  • Scone Dough
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup almond meal
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • ½ cup slivered almonds
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • Maple Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup unsalted melted butter
  • extra almond slivers for decoration
COME PROCEDERE
  1. Scone Dough Instructions
  2. In a large bowl mix together the flour, almond meal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the butter into your dry mixture and use your fingers to work it into your mix until it is crumbly. It doesn’t need to be perfect, and some small chunks of butter can remain.
  4. Stir in almond slivers.
  5. In a separate, smaller bowl whisk together the eggs, almond extract, milk, and maple syrup.
  6. Pour your wet ingredients into your dry, and use a spoon to mix until just incorporated.
  7. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, and dust with flour.
  8. Divide dough in half and form two circles, each about 6 inches wide and 1 inch thick.
  9. Cut each circle into 6 even pieces to form 12 triangular scones.
  10. Gently spread out the scones from each circle, to create a ½ inch space between each scone.
  11. Preheat oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit, and in the meantime place your tray of unbaked scones in the freezer.
  12. Once oven is ready, bake scones for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  13. Let scones cool fully before icing.
  14. Maple Glaze
  15. Whisk together sugar, maple syrup, and butter until smooth.
  16. Let sit until thickened to desired texture, whisking once again before using to dissipate any crust that has formed.
  17. Drizzle on cooled scones.
  18. Sprinkle slivered almonds on top of glaze if desired.
